Mark Kenly Collection view with Uffe Buchard

Hey guys, as I mentioned on my last post about Mark Kenly, that is the brand where I am having my internship and yesterday he showed a preview of his SS15 collection to the Danish fashion master Uffe Buchard! Probably some of you have seen him on Danmark´s Next Top Model, but he is also the mind behind the fashion magazine DANSK.

Well, I helped out during the small show and had the chance to take some snaps to give you a taste of what is about to come, hope you will enjoy it and stay tuned for his show under CPH Fashion Week 😉 OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Happy Sun-Day, summer days are here, I just can´t believe it!

For you guys who follow me on Facebook, you have probably seen my last post regarding Chare, a whole new and exciting concept by the Danish Refugee Council created in partnership with some of the coolest Danish fashion houses like Stella Nova, Barbara i Gongini, Edith og Ella, Samsøe & Samsøe, Storm & Marie, Tusnelda Bloch, Wackerhaus, Wood Wood and many more.

I have been there for the opening of the store and I have to say I am in love! OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The place is just intimate and cozy, making you feel at home, There are just so many cool items and the location is perfect, by the centre of the city!OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Right when you come in, the staff will make you feel at your own place. Here you can see Susanne wearing and amazing dress from Tusnelda Bloch and Gabrielé a chic jacket from Wackerhaus. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

On their words, “Chare is like your best friend´s walk-in closet”, which you can just go and borrow the nicest clothes from the best brands. For the small amount of 159 Danish Kroners per month, you can be a member and get access to new collections, invitations to member-only events, such as styling, pop-up shops and much more.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Not only this is a revolutionary way of saving money and always wearing the best of the Danish fashion, but also a great way of helping the ones who need and the fashion industry reducing pollution and waste, so don´t hesitate to go to and be part of it!

Love, Mari

Summer Festivals

When in Denmark one CANNOT start creating expectations about summer, because rain will come and wash it all away…Oh, DK!

Well, despite the funny coming and going of my beloved sun, I am pretty much excited about this summer. First, because lately I had to stop and think about my weight, which has been increasing for the last few years (I guess being in a relationship DOES help you gaining weight!), then I decided on having a healthier lifestyle – don´t miss my next post! – so I am expecting to have, as Danes say, a “bikini ready” body until summer, but mostly keep on being healthy. IMG_2377Second, because so many festivals on the corner just makes you dream of fresh outfits and sitting on the grass with friends and a couple of drinks, so here is a list with 5 Scandinavian Festivals which you just cannot miss:

Distortion – June 4-8DistortionThis is a Street Music Festival that sort of opens the summer season in Copenhagen, so whenever the whole city is out for Distortion, you know it is time to put on some shorts! This year, it is going to happen from June 4th to 8th starting in Nørrebro and Vesterbro, then heading to the Harbour of Copenhagen and the Final Party. The best thing about this festival is that it is for free so everyone can join, but if you are not planning to attend it, watch out these streets, so you can chose other ways to go to your destination. It is almost impossible to bike, drive or even walk.

Secret Solstice – June 20-22Solstice Secret Solstice in Iceland has been gaining a lot of international and local recognition, maybe because of the exciting explanation behind it (it will happen during the 24-hour midnight sun during Summer Solstice and is based on the old Norse Mythology) or the even more exciting line up, which includes Massive Attack, Woodkid, Kerri Chandler and many more. If you ever wished to be in a place with endless sun, this is your destination!

Roskilde Festival – June 29-July 06RoskildeThe 43 year old pioneer – and one of the largest in Europe – festival that happens in the city of Roskilde, Denmark brings this year, among others, heavy names like The Rolling Stones, Drake, Stevie Wonder, Lykke Li and Manu Chao. It is a big event, so make sure to have a tent, plenty of food and beer. The good thing is that there is the possibility for students to volunteer for small jobs and get free tickets.

Stella Pollaris – early AugustStellaImagine yourself surrounded by nature, good music and company. The coolest locations are always held for this electronic music festival.. Be aware for whenever Stella Pollaris releases the dates for 2014, since this is a MUST GO festival if you live in Cph!

Strøm – August 11-17StrømIf you are into electronic music, this is the festival for you! With a range of Danish and International DJs and musicians, it is held late summer in different venues around the town of Copenhagen.

This year, I personally plan to attend Distortion, Stella Pollaris and go to Roskilde Festival as a volunteer, how about you, which summer festivals do you plan to go to?

Love, Mari

Cool outfit for next shopping?

What up pretty people!

So on the weekend me and the girls when out for a little tour in town and noticed that some of the shops around are starting to get their mid-season sales on. I personally felt in love with this outfit from H&M, since I am a huge fan of crop tops and high waisted bottoms. OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Since trench coats are becoming a big deal, I thought this could be a good opportunity to incorporate them without acting too pretentious.

I hope you liked this as much as I did, what are your latest shopping obsessions?

Sao Paulo Fashion Week SS15

Happy thursday everyone, so it is Fashion Week time in Brazil!

The capital of Sao Paulo is bubbling with it´s 37th Fashion Week edition. Many of the brands presented have been showing a wide range of bright colours and use of exclusive materials like latex, so lay back and enjoy it! Here are some of my favorite pieces from the collections presented on the first and second days of SPFW.

CavaleraCavalera-SS15Cavalera has been inspired (as many others during this season) by tropical scenarios, which I -as a good Brazilian- just can´t get enough of! I am madly in love with the light fringed kimonos and the flowery print in black background, which gives a good balance to the items.

Tufi DuekTufi-Duek-SS15The designer shows a retro design with futuristic details in this “swimming pools” inspired collection. New and technological materials such as the holographic tulle made the girly-shaped dresses look like it came from the future!

Joao PimentaJoao-Pimenta-SS15This quite cool menswear brand mixed beach inspiration and tailoring with elegance this season, making an unexpected use of materials like leather.

AnimaleAnimale-SS15Some of the SS15 pieces from Animale are composed with exclusive lace and embroidery that makes you want to look closer to discover them. Inspired by the northern regions of Brazil, they have also produced items out of latex, which is one of the country´s own materials.

Patricia MottaPatricia-Motta-SS15I love the application of bright colors into rough materials like leather and suede, which Patricia did with unusual neatness.

Pat Pat´sPat-Pat´s-SS15A cousin who lives in the USA and enjoys a relaxed beach-lifestyle inspired the young designer. The laser-cut pieces in summer colors are just to put on and go out!

Alexandre HercovitchAlexandre-Hercovitch-SS15With a long-life career and many amazing collections on his hands, Hercovitch one more time surprised showing a 50´s based collection with inspiration on Marilyn Monroe. Not obvious at all and very technological. I want the white latex coat now!

Giuliana RomannoGiuliana-Romanno-SS15The mix of soft pastels with stronger tones on top of sporty shapes works perfectly for this season. Way to go Giuliana!

The event runs until April 4th, so if you want to see the rest of the shows, make sure go to the Fashion Forward page and let us know what you think of the fashion scene in Brazil 😉

Backstage at Prada F/W 2014 show

Hi guys!

Milan fashion week is happening right now, and there are plenty of beautiful clothes being shown on the runways. I  am in love with backstage photos in general, because I think the photos have sort of a magical feeling to them. You can feel the excitement and the whole atmosphere just by looking at the pictures where the beautiful models are posing in their designer clothes minutes before they step out on the runway.

Prada just showed their collection and I really like the colors, prints and materials being used for the F/W looks.

Street style at New York Fashion Week 2014

Hi there!

To stay in the street style spirit, I found some great pictures from the streets of New York City! I think it’s so refreshing and nice to look at some colors during this cold and grey winter. Love the layering in some of the outfits – I guess that’s the way to still look fabulous and stay warm.

Copenhagen Fashion Week AW14 – Street Styles

Styles which start life on the street corner have a way of ending up being inspiration for a lot of designers, fashion catwalks, editors and bloggers. This shouldn’t surprise us because the authenticity which streetstyle is considered to represent is  precious in the fashion world.

Everyone has its own sense of style but creative people who are able to style themselves in an attractive and inspiring way can be eye candy for the ones who have passion for fashion and are interested on styling and designed clothes.

Copenhagen Fashion Week 2#

Here is the second report of our Fashion week tour and yesterday David Andersen had his  amazing fashion show!

Many celebrities, bloggers, editors and photographers were packed at the Copenhagen CIty Hall to see his creations for AW14 and we from Hybrida like the result!

The fun way in which he tried to put some elements from the last century mixed with a contemporary glamour worked well for his brand, so check it out and let us know what do you think of his newest collection.
